How many birds are killed by these things? An article at commondreams.org titled, “Stop the Holocaust of Migrating Birds”, says, and I quote, “that at least 7 million migrating songbirds were killed this spring running the gauntlet of 84,000 American communication towers that rise as high as 2,000 feet into the sky, braced by invisible guy wires that garotte the birds right out of the air.” Just yesterday I was despairing about the missing songbirds in my neighborhood. We have a dramatic drop here in Durham N.C. USA And, I am no scientist, but don’t we need the birds in a vital way for environmental balance? What about wind turbines and birds?

Thank you Ms. Kiddhah. I am certain that Prince Charles cares about the songbirds or sea birds as much as he does alternative clean energy. I believe he cares about more than economic concerns. Is there anyway you can make sure that he is considering the danger to birds? I would love to read an article in which he assures us that he will safeguard our birds. In a way they are all our birds – the earth’s birds; and their demise would be devastating. In one year, 7 million birds killed just in that one way in just this one country. Prince Charles could be the perfect champion for this cause.

Dead birds for clean energy is truly like throwing out the baby with the dirty water.
