Earth Day opening of the new, $2.3 million Sobrato Science & Sustainability Center
Largely through Abby Sobrato's efforts, a $2.3 million science center opened Sunday where thousands of school kids will get to go on field trips in Saratoga, where they'll do hands-on stuff like cook food in solar ovens, make a smoothie by pedaling a bicycle-powered blender, and dissect a sheep's lungs to learn about respiration and air pollution.
